WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TREATMENT
The first step in treatment is getting a diagnosis. An addiction counselor or medical provider can help with this. Family or friends may have encouraged you to seek medical help. No matter your reason, a counselor or provider can recommend the best treatment approach. Your treatment options depend on your diagnosis and symptom severity. They may include medication, therapy, or time in a rehabilitation facility. Here’s what you might expect during the treatment process:
Anticipate Challenges
Recovery isn’t always easy or straightforward, but regardless of your diagnosis, you’ll face physical, emotional, and psychological challenges.
Expect Discomfort
The recovery process can be both humbling and enlightening. It can be an emotional roller-coaster that involves difficult and challenging moments.
Find Community
Although treatment can be a long and painful process, it can also be rewarding, inspiring, and empowering.
No matter your diagnosis or experiences, Arizona Care Continuum is dedicated to providing personalized addiction treatment that strives to meet and exceed your expectations.
WHAT IS TREATMENT?
Treatment includes managed care and intervention to address mental health conditions, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, or other traumas. A treatment team will create a plan tailored to your medical and psychological needs.
The focus of the facility will shape this approach. Treatment works best when you feel safe and supported. Being part of a strong network of people and resources can improve your recovery.
PROGRAMS THAT WE OFFER
PHP - Partial Hospitalization Program
The PHP acts as an intermediary phase of treatment, designed to bridge the transition between inpatient and outpatient care. PHP offers a level of therapeutic support similar to what is found in inpatient settings.
IOP - Intensive Outpatient Program
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a common outpatient care level, serving as a step down from PHP or a standalone treatment. It offers similar clinical and therapeutic services as PHP but with a more flexible schedule.
OP - Outpatient Program
OP represents the final phase in the outpatient care continuum. It is often used as a step down from IOP, helping clients to fully transition to complete independence from the treatment environment.
HOW ARIZONA CARE CONTINUUM CAN HELP
Arizona Care Continuum is dedicated to providing personalized care and support to help you create positive changes in your life. We offer effective treatment for addiction, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis. Our flexible treatment options include the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and standard Outpatient services. Your individualized treatment plan may include several or all of the following therapeutic approaches.
-
Individual therapy is also called counseling or psychotherapy. It provides one-on-one treatment with a certified therapist or healthcare professional. Individual therapy may be the first step in your treatment plan. As you progress, it can be supplemented, replaced, or enhanced with other therapeutic activities.
-
There are many reasons to choose group therapy or psychotherapy. This type of therapy helps you connect with others facing similar challenges, such as substance abuse, depression, or social anxiety. Group therapy creates a supportive environment where members share experiences and receive feedback. It also encourages participation and offers diverse perspectives. In addition to building a support network, group therapy helps members listen, share, and respond to one another.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps individuals overcome addiction by identifying negative thought patterns and developing healthier coping strategies. This evidence-based approach supports lasting recovery by addressing both substance use and underlying mental health challenges, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
-
DBT is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals manage emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthy coping skills. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, DBT is also effective in treating addiction, depression, and anxiety. It promotes mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.
-
Exposure Therapy is a structured approach that helps individuals confront fears and anxieties in a controlled environment. By gradually facing distressing situations, this evidence-based method reduces avoidance behaviors, allowing individuals to build resilience and regain control over their emotional responses.
-
Medication management ensures you and your healthcare provider work together to monitor and adjust your medications. This process includes tracking your response, understanding how the medication works, and how it helps manage your symptoms. Depending on your treatment plan, family and friends may also be involved in medication management.
-
Recreational therapy uses activities to support recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, and other conditions. Activities like arts and crafts, drama, sports, dance, games, and music promote emotional, physical, and mental well-being. These activities are customized to your interests and help achieve positive, healthy outcomes.
